TRAVELOGUE  ::  MOAB

Nathanael Martin

Five years ago, in late October 2014, I visited Arches and Canyonlands National Parks near Moab, Utah for the first time. I really fell in love with this area and it's incredibly beautiful and dramatic scenery! Since then my photography skills have greatly increased, and armed with much higher quality equipment and new skills I decided to make another trip here, this time in the spring. I was blessed with incredible timing of weather -- literally could not have been any better if I'd dreamed up the perfect day! Sunrise at Mesa Arch was calm and majestic, then after a quick stop at Dead Horse Point I spend mid-day driving through the La Sal Mountains, Castle Valley, and hiking Grandstaff Canyon. For sunset I hiked to Delicate Arch, probably the most iconic place in Utah, and was treated to some of the most dramatic and perfect light possible at this amazing location. On Sunday I had time to hike out to Landscape and Double O Arches, completing a truly epic weekend.
